Township of Central Frontenac Burn and Fireworks Permits

Post by Ken Waller » Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:24 pm

The Township of Central Frontenac has revised the Township's Burn and fireworks By-Law.
A copy of the Township of CF Burn By-law #2021-21 can be found at https://icreate8.esolutionsgroup.ca/111 ... rmits.aspx

The attached notice from Jamie Riddell, A/Manager of Emergency Services/Fire Chief, outlines the changes and highlights the important parts of the by-law.

Of note:
-you need a burn permit all year
-between 1 Apr and 31 Oct, fires are only permitted between 2 hours before sunset and 2 hours after sunrise
-you must call into the township office EACH time you are burning brush
-if a fire is deemed to be the result of the contravention of the by-law or the Forest Fires Prevention Act, the property owner could be held financially responsible for costs incurred by the township in extinguishing the fire.

Amendments to the by-law regarding fireworks are still pending but are expected to include a ban on setting off fireworks when a fire ban is in effect.
