Attached is some updated information on the gypsy moth infestation received via the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) that has been compiled by the Regional Forest Health Network (spearheaded by the Eastern Ontario Model Forest (EOMF)) in partnership with the Invasive Species Centre. Lots of good, practical information.
As you will read in the article, MNRF has stated that, given the high number of egg masses left following last year's infestation "...should all of these eggs hatch successfully and develop through all of their larval stages, we should expect “severe” defoliation."
Many SLPOA members have signed on for aerial spraying which should occur in late May or early June. Zimmer Air Services is no longer accepting new bookings.
